With a view to put Haryana on the world aviation map and scale up
aviation infrastructure, the state government has a plan to set up two
integrated helicopter hubs and three general aviation hubs in the state
on public private partnership mode.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the two integrated helicopter hubs are planned at Pinjore and Narnaul to provide aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul and fixed base operations, specifically catering to helicopters.
The general aviation hubs are proposed at Hissar, Bhiwani and Karnal to provide aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul and fixed base operations facilities specifically catering to light and medium fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Therefore, the state government has invited interested private partners through international bidding to set up the proposed facilities as per eligible criteria.
He said that the salient features of these hubs included strategic location and good connection to nearby hubs of economic and aviation activity. The Haryana government would provide airfield security and the concession period would be 25 years. He said that at Pinjore, the existing runway length is 3000 feet X 75 feet and 105 acres of encumbrance-free total land area. At Narnaul, existing runway length is 300 feet X 75 feet and 36 acres of encumbrance-free total land area. He said that at Hisar, existing runway length is 4000 feet X 150 feet and 194 acres of encumbrance–free total land area.
